HFM Kenya 2026: CMA, M-Pesa & Bonus

HFM Kenya stands out from most forex brokers in East Africa because it holds a Capital Markets Authority (CMA) licence through HF Markets (Kenya) Limited. This makes HFM one of the few international brokers with direct Kenyan regulatory oversight, KES accounts, and M-Pesa deposits. The CMA licence means local dispute resolution, segregated client funds under Kenyan law, and accountability that offshore-only brokers cannot match.

This guide covers the CMA licence, M-Pesa funding in KES, HFM’s current promotions — led by the 20% Top-Up Bonus after the 100% Supercharged Bonus was withdrawn in August 2026 — plus Shield 500 loss protection, Trophy Road loyalty, and how HFM compares to alternatives in Kenya. Verified August 7, 2026.

Affiliate disclosure: forex-bonus.com may receive compensation if you open an account through links on this page. This does not influence our ratings or analysis. See our review methodology for how we evaluate brokers.

Risk warning: Forex and CFD trading carries significant risk. The majority of retail trader accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

Availability note: HFM bonus programs are not available to clients under the CySEC (EU), FCA (UK), or DFSA entities. The bonuses and promotions described in this guide are available through HFM’s offshore entities serving eligible regions, including Kenya. Forex bonuses are banned for retail clients in the EU (ESMA), UK (FCA), Australia (ASIC), and the US.

What the CMA Licence Means for Kenyan Traders

HFM operates in Kenya through HF Markets (Kenya) Limited, which is licensed and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority. The CMA is Kenya’s primary financial regulator, responsible for supervising securities, derivatives, and capital markets activity. This is not an offshore arrangement — it is a domestic licence under Kenyan law.

Why this matters in practice:

  • Local regulatory recourse. If a dispute arises, you can file a complaint directly with the CMA in Nairobi rather than pursuing resolution through a foreign regulator.
  • Segregated client funds. CMA regulations require licensed brokers to hold client funds in segregated accounts at Kenyan banks, separate from operating capital.
  • Compliance monitoring. The CMA conducts periodic audits on licensed firms, providing ongoing oversight.
  • KES acceptance. Operating under a local licence means HFM supports Kenya Shillings (KES) as an account and deposit currency, eliminating unnecessary conversion costs.

HFM also holds licences from the FSCA (South Africa), FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), DFSA (Dubai), and FSA (Seychelles). The CMA Kenya licence provides the highest level of local protection for Kenyan traders. For a broader look at brokers available in Kenya, see our Kenya broker guide.

Important distinction: Bonus programs are offered through HFM’s offshore entity (HF Markets SV Ltd, FSA Seychelles), not through the CMA-regulated entity. When registering for a bonus-eligible account, confirm which entity you are signing up with — the entity determines what promotions you can access.

How to Deposit with M-Pesa in KES

M-Pesa is the fastest deposit method for Kenyan traders on HFM. You can fund your trading account directly from your phone without visiting a bank or converting currency.

Deposit fees and minimums should be verified on your HFM dashboard. HFM’s website was inaccessible to automated verification tools at the time of research.

Step-by-Step M-Pesa Deposit

  1. Log in to your HFM myHF portal or the HFM App.
  2. Navigate to Deposit and select M-Pesa.
  3. Enter the amount in KES.
  4. Confirm the STK push notification on your phone with your M-Pesa PIN.
  5. Funds appear in your trading account within minutes.

M-Pesa requires no bank account and no currency conversion. If you prefer USD deposits, Skrill and Neteller are available but add a KES-to-USD conversion cost.

HFM Bonuses Available to Kenyan Traders

Kenyan traders registering under HF Markets (SV) Ltd are eligible for most HFM bonus programs. Below is each offer with its honest status as of August 7, 2026, from the forex-bonus.com Broker & Bonus Matrix.

100% Supercharged Bonus

Update (verified August 7, 2026): The 100% Supercharged Bonus has been withdrawn from HFM’s international site — its promotion pages and official T&C links no longer resolve, and our Matrix marks it expired. The terms below are preserved for reference for existing bonus holders. HFM’s verified active offers are the 20% Top-Up Bonus (up to $5,000), Shield 500 loss protection, Return on Free Margin, and the Trophy Road loyalty program.

HFM’s former flagship offer for Kenyan traders was the 100% Supercharged Bonus — a deposit-match program that doubled qualifying deposits and included a built-in rebate system. It is now withdrawn (see the update above); the archived terms below apply only to existing bonus holders. A note for Kenyan readers specifically: a Kenya-branch (HFKE) version of the T&C is still indexed by Google, but we could not verify any Kenya-only continuation — do not fund an account expecting this bonus without written confirmation from HFM support.

While it ran: a $500 deposit (approximately KES 64,500) was matched with $500 in bonus credit for $1,000 in total margin, active as long as you traded at least once every 60 days, with any withdrawal reducing the bonus 1:1. The built-in rebate system set it apart — 0.2 pips back per standard lot on Forex and $2 per lot on Gold, credited as withdrawable cash up to an $8,000 lifetime cap, with trades under 1 minute earning nothing and 1-2 minutes half rate. One bonus account per client/IP. For HFM’s current deposit offer, see the 20% Top-Up Bonus below and our deposit bonus guide for comparisons.

Shield 500 Loss-Protection Account

HFM designed the Shield 500 for new traders in Africa. Kenya is one of only three countries where KES is accepted.

DetailTerms
Protection amountUp to $500 in loss protection
Minimum deposit$10, kept in place for the first 25 days (the old 10-day registration deadline is not in the current T&C)
Deposit currenciesKES, NGN, GHS
Protection period25 days from activation
Leverage1:1000
CommissionsNone
EligibilityFirst-time depositors only

Shield 500 is not a traditional bonus. It converts your trading losses during the first 25 days into tradable credit, up to $500. If you deposit KES 1,300 (approximately $10) and lose $150 in that period, that $150 becomes tradable credit rather than a permanent loss. The credit is non-withdrawable, but profits generated from it are. The fact that KES is one of only three accepted currencies confirms this program targets the East African market.

Rescue Bonus (30%) — no longer offered

The former Rescue Bonus (30% credit on deposits over $50, capped at $7,000 cumulative, with Stop-Out Rewards up to $3,000) has been removed from HFM’s current site and is marked expired in our Matrix (August 7, 2026).

Top-Up Bonus (20%)

HFM’s Top-Up Bonus offers 20% up to $5,000 on transfers into the Top-Up Bonus account (unverified — confirm with HFM). Non-withdrawable credit, forfeited after 60 days of inactivity.

No-Deposit Bonus Status

As of June 2026, HFM’s no-deposit bonus has expired. The previous offer did not include Kenya. Check our Bonus Finder for currently available no-deposit offers, or browse our no-deposit bonus directory.

HFM Trophy Road Loyalty Program

Launched in January 2026, HFM’s Trophy Road rewards active traders with Trophy Road Points (TRP) that are redeemable for cash prizes, electronics, luxury travel, and other rewards.

Rates shown are for the top instrument groups; lower groups earn less (Gold earns 10-16 TRP per $1M by tier), and only round-turn trades held 2+ minutes count. These figures correct the 10x-lower rates we previously published.

You receive 100 TRP immediately when you join. Additional points accumulate based on trading volume, from 250 TRP per $1M (top groups) at Rookie up to 400 TRP per $1M at Legend tier. HFM also runs periodic Missions (tasks that award bonus TRP) and Crystal Boosters (double TRP on selected instruments). Trophy Road pairs well with ROFM — the same volume counts toward both. For a broader comparison, see our forex loyalty programs guide.

Return on Free Margin (ROFM)

HFM pays up to 3% annual interest on unused free margin, funded from a $1,000,000 monthly pool. Rates range from 2% (under $25,000 free margin, 5-50 lots/month) to 3% (over $25,000, 50+ lots/month). Minimum 5 standard lots per month on Forex or metals, each held at least 3 minutes. Earnings are credited monthly and fully withdrawable. Source: hfm.com/int/en/promotions/return-on-free-margin.

Account specifications should be confirmed on hfm.com. Bonus eligibility varies by program: the 20% Top-Up Bonus runs on its own dedicated bonus account type, and the withdrawn Supercharged Bonus previously required Premium or Islamic accounts.

For most Kenyan traders, the Premium account is the strongest starting point. It combines a low $5 minimum deposit (approximately KES 645), ROFM eligibility, and competitive spreads with no commission, with the dedicated Top-Up bonus account as the route to HFM’s current deposit match. All account types support MT4, MT5, and the HFM App.

HFM’s primary advantage is the CMA licence combined with M-Pesa KES deposits. No other major international broker holds a Kenyan CMA licence while also offering deposit bonuses through an affiliated offshore entity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is HFM regulated in Kenya?

Yes. HFM holds a CMA licence through HF Markets (Kenya) Limited. The CMA is Kenya’s primary financial regulator, requiring segregated client funds and periodic audits. HFM also holds licences from the FSCA, FCA, CySEC, DFSA, and FSA Seychelles, but the CMA licence offers the most direct regulatory recourse for Kenyan traders.

Can I deposit with M-Pesa on HFM?

Yes. HFM accepts M-Pesa deposits in KES. You initiate the deposit in your HFM dashboard, receive an STK push notification, confirm with your M-Pesa PIN, and funds are credited within minutes. No foreign currency conversion is required.

What happened to the HFM 100% Supercharged Bonus?

It was withdrawn from HFM’s international site — confirmed in our August 7, 2026 verification. While it ran, it matched deposits up to $50,000 (minimum $250 into a Premium or Islamic account) with per-lot rebates capped at $8,000 lifetime, through HFM’s offshore entity rather than the CMA-regulated one. A Kenya-branch T&C remains Google-indexed but a Kenya-only continuation could not be verified — confirm with HFM support before counting on it. HFM’s current verified deposit offer is the 20% Top-Up Bonus up to $5,000 (no volume requirement, profits withdrawable without restrictions).

Does HFM offer Shield 500 for Kenyan traders?

Yes. Shield 500 explicitly accepts KES as one of only three local deposit currencies (alongside NGN and GHS). It covers trading losses during the first 25 days as tradable credit, up to $500, credited at midnight on day 25. Minimum deposit $10 (or 1,480 KES), kept in place for the first 25 days — any earlier withdrawal disqualifies the bonus permanently. First-time depositors only; per the current T&C (v2026/03, verified August 7, 2026) there is no volume requirement, and the old 10-day deposit deadline is gone.
