HFM Nigeria is one of the most widely used forex broker platforms across West Africa. Formerly known as HotForex, HFM holds regulation under the FSCA (South Africa), FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), DFSA (Dubai), FSA (Seychelles), and CMA (Kenya). For Nigerian traders, the key entity is HF Markets (SV) Ltd under the FSA Seychelles, which is the entity that offers bonus programs and accepts Naira deposits. This guide covers everything a Nigerian trader needs to know about HFM in 2026: the current bonus lineup (led by the 20% Top-Up Bonus after the 100% Supercharged Bonus was withdrawn in August 2026), how to deposit in Naira, the Trophy Road loyalty program, the Shield 500 loss-protection account, and the regulatory context under the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria. Verified August 7, 2026.

Affiliate disclosure: forex-bonus.com may receive compensation if you open an account through links on this page. This does not influence our ratings or analysis. See our review methodology for how we evaluate brokers.

Risk warning: Forex and CFD trading carries significant risk. The majority of retail trader accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

Availability note: HFM bonus programs are not available to clients under the CySEC (EU), FCA (UK), or DFSA entities. The bonuses and promotions described in this guide are available through HFM’s offshore entities serving eligible regions, including Nigeria. Forex bonuses are banned for retail clients in the EU (ESMA), UK (FCA), Australia (ASIC), and the US.

HFM has built a strong presence in Africa over more than a decade of operations. Several factors explain why Nigerian traders specifically gravitate toward this broker.

Low entry barrier. HFM’s minimum deposit starts at $5, which converts to roughly NGN 8,000 at current exchange rates. For many Nigerian traders, this is a more practical starting point than the $50 or $100 minimums at other brokers. You can start with a small amount, test the platform, and scale up once you are comfortable with the execution quality.

Naira-friendly funding. HFM accepts deposits in NGN through Paystack and local bank transfers. This matters because it eliminates the need to convert Naira to USD before funding, which would incur extra conversion fees and potentially slower processing. Paystack deposits are typically credited within minutes, making it one of the fastest funding methods available to Nigerian traders.

Platform access. HFM provides MT4, MT5, and the proprietary HFM App. All three platforms work on mobile, which is critical in Nigeria where most retail traders operate from smartphones. The HFM App offers a simplified interface for newer traders, while MT4 and MT5 cater to those who need advanced charting and Expert Advisors.

FSCA regulation. While Nigeria’s SEC does not directly regulate offshore forex brokers, HFM’s FSCA license (South Africa) provides a layer of oversight that is relevant to the African market. This is a stronger regulatory position than brokers operating solely under offshore licenses like SVG or Vanuatu. HFM Bonuses Available to Nigerian Traders

HFM runs multiple concurrent bonus programs through its offshore entities. Nigerian traders registering under HF Markets (SV) Ltd are eligible for most of these offers. Below is a breakdown of each program with its honest status as of August 7, 2026, drawn from the forex-bonus.com Broker & Bonus Matrix.

100% Supercharged Bonus

Update (verified August 7, 2026): The 100% Supercharged Bonus has been withdrawn from HFM’s international site — its promotion pages and official T&C links no longer resolve, and our Matrix marks it expired. The terms below are preserved for reference for existing bonus holders. HFM’s verified active offers are the 20% Top-Up Bonus (up to $5,000), Shield 500 loss protection, Return on Free Margin, and the Trophy Road loyalty program.

HFM’s former headline offer, the 100% Supercharged Bonus, has been withdrawn from the international site (expired per our August 7, 2026 verification). The deposit-match terms below are preserved for existing bonus holders.

DetailTerms

Maximum bonusUp to $50,000
Minimum deposit$250 into a Premium or Islamic account

Rebate component$2 per standard lot on Gold, 0.2 pips per lot on Forex
Rebate cap$8,000 lifetime

WithdrawabilityBonus itself is non-withdrawable; profits are withdrawable

While it ran, the Supercharged Bonus worked as trading credit: a $500 deposit was matched with another $500 in bonus funds for $1,000 in total margin, active as long as you traded at least once every 60 days, with any withdrawal reducing the bonus 1:1. What made it distinct was the built-in rebate system — 0.2 pips back per standard lot on Forex and $2 per lot on Gold, accumulating up to an $8,000 lifetime cap as withdrawable cash (trades under 1 minute earned nothing; 1-2 minutes half rate; one bonus account per client and IP; $250 minimum into a Premium or Islamic account). These mechanics now apply only to existing bonus holders — new clients should look to the 20% Top-Up Bonus. Full statuses on our HFM bonus page.

For context on how this compares to other deposit match offers, see our deposit bonus guide.

Shield 500 Loss-Protection Account

HFM offers a unique program specifically targeting new traders in Africa, including Nigeria. The Shield 500 Account converts your trading losses during the first 25 days into tradable credit, up to a maximum of $500.

DetailTerms
Protection amountUp to $500 in loss protection
Minimum deposit$10, kept in place for the first 25 days (the old 10-day registration deadline is not in the current T&C)
Deposit currenciesKES, NGN, GHS
Protection period25 days from activation
Leverage1:1000

Target audienceFirst-time depositors only

This is not a traditional bonus. Instead of adding free credit, Shield 500 absorbs your losses and converts them into tradable credit. If you deposit NGN 15,000 (approximately $10) and lose $200 during your first 25 days, that $200 becomes tradable credit rather than a permanent loss. The credit itself is non-withdrawable, but any profits generated from trading with it are withdrawable.

The fact that NGN is one of only three accepted deposit currencies for this program shows that HFM has specifically designed Shield 500 for the Nigerian, Kenyan, and Ghanaian markets.

Top-Up Bonus (20%)

HFM also runs a Top-Up Bonus offering 20% up to $5,000 on every transfer into the Top-Up Bonus account (unverified — confirm with HFM). The base rate is 20%, though HFM occasionally runs regional campaigns that increase the percentage. This bonus is available on both MT4 and MT5 and is non-withdrawable trading credit. It is forfeited after 60 days of account inactivity.

Rescue Bonus (30%) — no longer offered

The former Rescue Bonus (30% bonus credit on deposits over $50, cumulative cap $7,000, plus Stop-Out Rewards up to $3,000) has been removed from HFM’s current site and is marked expired in our Matrix (August 7, 2026). Do not plan around it.

No-Deposit Bonus Status

As of June 2026, HFM’s no-deposit bonus has expired. The previous offer ($50 for select Asian markets) is no longer available. Nigerian traders looking for no-deposit options should check our Nigeria no-deposit bonus page for alternatives from other brokers, or use the Bonus Finder to filter by country.

How to Deposit in Naira (NGN)

One of HFM’s strongest features for Nigerian traders is direct Naira deposit support. Here is how the process works.

Deposit Methods for Nigeria

Local bank transferNGNSame day to 1 business dayCheck broker website for current detailsCheck broker website for current details
SkrillUSDMinutes$5Varies
NetellerUSDMinutes$5Varies

Deposit fees and minimums should be verified on your HFM dashboard. HFM’s website was inaccessible to automated verification tools at the time of research.

Paystack is the recommended method for Nigerian traders. It processes in minutes, accepts NGN directly from your Nigerian bank account or card, and avoids the USD conversion step entirely. The funds arrive in your HFM trading account in the currency equivalent based on the prevailing exchange rate.

Step-by-step Naira deposit via Paystack:

  1. Log in to your HFM myHF portal.
  2. Navigate to Deposit and select Paystack.
  3. Enter the amount in NGN.
  4. Complete payment through Paystack (bank transfer, card, or USSD).
  5. Funds appear in your trading account within minutes.

If you prefer USD deposits, e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller are available but require you to first convert NGN to USD, which adds a conversion cost. For most Nigerian traders, the Naira-direct route through Paystack is the more practical option.

HFM Trophy Road Loyalty Program

Launched in January 2026, HFM’s Trophy Road is a tiered loyalty program that rewards active traders with Trophy Road Points (TRP). These points are redeemable for cash prizes, electronics, luxury vacations, and other rewards valued at up to $500,000 in total.

How Trophy Road Works

TierTRP Per $1M VolumeJoining Bonus
Rookie250 TRP100 TRP on joining
Rising Star300 TRP-
Pro350 TRP-
Legend400 TRP-

Source: HFM official Loyalty Program T&C (v2026-05), verified August 7, 2026. Rates shown are for the top instrument groups; lower groups earn less (Gold earns 10-16 TRP per $1M by tier), and only round-turn trades held 2+ minutes count. These figures correct the 10x-lower rates we previously published.

When you join the program, HFM gives you 100 TRP immediately. From there, you earn additional points based on your trading volume. At the Rookie tier, every $1,000,000 in qualifying volume on the top instrument groups earns 250 TRP. As you progress through Rising Star, Pro, and Legend tiers, the rate increases up to 400 TRP per million.

Missions and Crystal Boosters. Beyond standard volume-based earnings, HFM runs periodic Missions (specific tasks that award bonus TRP) and Crystal Boosters (which double your TRP earnings on selected instruments). These mechanics keep the program engaging for active traders and provide ways to accelerate point accumulation.

Trophy Road is designed for traders who are already committed to trading regularly. If you trade enough volume to qualify for ROFM, you will also accumulate meaningful TRP — the two programs complement each other. For a broader look at how broker loyalty schemes compare, see our forex loyalty programs guide.

Return on Free Margin (ROFM)

HFM pays interest on your unused free margin through a program called Return on Free Margin. This is funded from a $1,000,000 monthly prize pool.

Free MarginMonthly VolumeAnnual Rate
$1,000 - $25,0005 - 50 lots2%
$1,000 - $25,00050+ lots2.5%
Over $25,0005 - 50 lots2.5%
Over $25,00050+ lots3%

To qualify, you need to trade at least 5 standard lots per month on Forex or metals, with each trade held for a minimum of 3 minutes. The earnings are credited monthly and are withdrawable. This is one of the few programs where your idle capital earns a return while you maintain an active trading account.

SEC Nigeria and Regulatory Context

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria does not directly regulate offshore forex brokers like HFM. Nigeria does not have a domestic forex broker licensing framework equivalent to the FCA or ASIC. This means Nigerian traders who use HFM are operating under the regulatory umbrella of HFM’s offshore entity (FSA Seychelles) or the FSCA entity (South Africa).

What this means in practice:

  • No local deposit protection. If a dispute arises, you would need to pursue resolution through HFM’s regulatory body (FSA Seychelles or FSCA), not through Nigerian courts or the SEC.
  • No bonus restrictions. Unlike the EU (ESMA) or UK (FCA), Nigeria does not ban forex bonuses. Nigerian traders are eligible for all HFM promotional offers.
  • CBN considerations. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued general warnings about forex trading risk but has not banned retail forex trading. Naira deposits to offshore brokers operate within the existing payment infrastructure (Paystack, bank transfers).

HFM’s FSCA license is the most relevant regulation for Nigerian traders. South Africa’s FSCA is a recognized regulator with enforcement powers, and HFM’s compliance with FSCA standards provides a degree of oversight that is absent with purely offshore brokers. That said, the FSCA primarily protects South African clients, not Nigerian clients.

HFM Nigeria Account Types

HFM offers several account types. Not all are eligible for every bonus program.

Cent$51.2 pipsNoneTop-Up Bonus
Premium$51.2 pipsNoneROFM
Pro$1000.5 pipsNoneROFM
Zero$50.0 pipsFrom $3/lotROFM
Islamic$5VariesVariesROFM (Islamic variants of eligible accounts)

Account specifications should be confirmed on hfm.com. Bonus eligibility varies by program: the 20% Top-Up Bonus runs on its own dedicated bonus account type, and the withdrawn Supercharged Bonus previously required Premium or Islamic accounts.

For most Nigerian traders, the Premium account offers the best combination of low entry ($5 minimum) and ROFM eligibility, with the dedicated Top-Up bonus account as the route to HFM’s current deposit match. The Cent account is suitable for absolute beginners who want to trade micro positions, while the Pro and Zero accounts cater to more experienced traders prioritizing tighter spreads.

HFM’s primary advantage over competitors in Nigeria is the combination of Naira-direct deposits and the Africa-specific Shield 500 program — its deposit-match edge narrowed when the $50,000-cap Supercharged Bonus was withdrawn in August 2026, leaving the 20% Top-Up up to $5,000. XM counters with a verified $50 no deposit bonus and a 50%+20% deposit program capped at the same $5,000. FBS offers a competitive 100% first-deposit bonus but has faced questions about bonus availability (their blog states they do not offer a welcome bonus as a deliberate policy choice).

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. There is no Nigerian law that prohibits retail traders from using offshore forex brokers. The SEC Nigeria does not regulate offshore forex platforms, but it has not banned them. HFM operates under the FSA Seychelles and FSCA South Africa licenses. Nigerian traders deposit via Paystack and local bank transfers without legal restriction. However, you should be aware that your account falls under offshore regulation, not Nigerian jurisdiction.

Can I deposit in Naira on HFM?

Yes. HFM accepts Naira (NGN) deposits through Paystack and local bank transfer. Paystack is the fastest option, with funds typically credited within minutes. You do not need to convert to USD before depositing. The conversion happens at the prevailing exchange rate when the funds are credited to your trading account.

What happened to the HFM 100% Supercharged Bonus?

It was withdrawn from HFM’s international site — confirmed in our August 7, 2026 verification, and our Matrix marks it expired. While it ran, it matched deposits up to $50,000 (minimum $250 into a Premium or Islamic account) with per-lot rebates capped at $8,000 lifetime. HFM’s current verified deposit offer is the 20% Top-Up Bonus up to $5,000: no volume requirement in the official T&C, profits withdrawable without restrictions, credit forfeited after 60 days of inactivity.

Does HFM offer a no-deposit bonus in Nigeria?

As of June 2026, HFM’s no-deposit bonus has expired. The previous offer was limited to select Asian markets and did not include Nigeria. Nigerian traders seeking no-deposit bonuses should check our Nigeria no-deposit bonus page for currently available offers from other brokers, or use the Bonus Finder to filter by country and offer type.
